Manager Sean Dyche has declared himself content with the point that Burnley took from Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Heading to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, Burnley played out a scoreless draw on the day to pick up a point that keeps us now eight points clear of Swansea City in the top relegation spot.

Speaking to the Official Site in his post game press conference, Dyche admitted it was a tough and tense encounter but he felt we were worthy of the point on the day.

‘It was a hard-fought point. A lot has been made of them having a hard run but we know how difficult it is here. They are a good side who we knew would have to throw caution to the wind and we came strong in the second half, so in the end I think it was a fair result.’

Dyche went on to say about our chances in the game.

‘Robbie Brady has nearly scored with two good free kicks and Tom has made a terrific save in the second half from their big chance. I thought we were very resolute throughout to be honest and perhaps the one gripe I have of my side is that we get in some fantastic positions and lack that one moment of quality. We had three or four unbelievable situations today, but certainly in the end there was no lack of effort and we put our bodies on the line when it got tough.’

Again Dyche was happy to take the positives from the performance and he couldn’t fault the players for their efforts on the day.

‘I take great pride in that. The beauty of the game is there for all to see, but you have to do all the nitty-gritty, all the ugly stuff and the hard stuff and we are very fortunate, when you think of the support we`ve got.’

With 1,948 making the trip for the game, his final words were of praise for our backing once again.

‘Those fans here today were unbelievable again, not just in numbers but in voice as well because the one thing they have at Burnley is a team who will give them everything – and they got that again today. There`s been a hint of frustration with our away results all season because I think some of our performances have warrantd more than we`ve got. But it is tough in the Premier League and it`s another clean sheet and another point on the board at the end of a big week in which we`ve picked up four more points to the total.’
