Manager Sean Dyche has been explaining why he feels our final pre season friendly this weekend against Hannover 96 will be the perfect preparation for Chelsea when we kick off our Premier League campaign a week this coming Saturday.

Having laid out our pre season schedule with an aim, Dyche told the Official Site that he’d been pleased with the variety of tests we’d faced over the last few weeks and he now feels that Hannover, on the back of Celta Vigo, will have us perfectly ready for the campaign opener.

‘You can never guarantee that, but the German sides tend to be a little bit more that way thinking and a little bit more like us. It was a very technical team we played the other night. Usually, not always, German sides are slightly more mixed. They can be technical but they can also be slightly more robust and formatted and a bit more methodical, so we have tried to find that healthy balance amongst all these different fixtures for different reasons in order to get the players ready.’

With Burnley so far unbeaten in our pre season campaign, Dyche knows he can take the positives from that and he’s also been delighted with how our newbies have settled in so far.

He also feels that there’s more to come from this group, but that doesn’t mean he’s finished strengthening yet if he can get a deal done.

‘There will still be changes, as I mentioned that the other night. I don`t think the exact team will necessarily play on Saturday. We still want minutes into a few players but I`ve been really pleased at how adaptable and flexible the team has been.’

Adding.

‘I think that`s important. We`ve shown signs again that we can morph into the 4-3-3 and equally operate with 4-4-2. I`ve been pleased on the tactical level and pleased with the fitness level and some of the quality has been good. It was a fine goal the other night against a very good side, so at the minute it bodes well.’
