Huddersfield Positives For Me

Centre half and skipper Ben Mee has been speaking about the positives from Burnley’s draw with Huddersfield Town yesterday.

Hosting David Wagner’s side at Turf Moor for the latest Premier League game, Burnley played out a scoreless draw on the day and Mee was particularly pleased to pick the clean sheet up.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media for his own post game press conference, our skipper felt there were a number of positives from the game.

The clean sheet of course was our second in succession on home soil.

‘I don`t think we were quite fully at it but we played some good football. A point is a point and we are still moving up that table nicely. Fair play to them, they defended well and I thought their back four did really well. We would have preferred to win and we did push to win the game and get the three points. But it wasn`t to be and the next best thing is not conceding and trying to get that clean sheet.’

The result also means that having replaced Tom Heaton between the sticks following his injury, Nick Pope has only conceded one goal in two and a half games and James Tarkowski can be pleased with how he’s stepped into Michael Keane’s boots following his departure to Everton.

‘We are coming together as a unit. They didn`t really test us too much today. Popey`s made a couple of saves – pretty comfortable I think – so we`re pleased with that. We dealt with their front line pretty well so we`re pleased with another clean sheet. We`ve had a good start. It`s a good building block and we`ll move on from here and look to build on it.’
