21-year-old Tranmere Rovers midfielder Max Power could be on his way to Burnley in the January window if rumours are true. He has been playing well for the League Two side. The Wirral club though is aware they could lose him for nothing in the summer unless he joins an English club when they would at least be entitled to training compensation. As well as the reported interest from Premier League Burnley, clubs in lower divisions including Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday have also watched the versatile midfielder this season and the media suggest Tranmere would be looking for around £400,000 to let Power go in January. The problem is that the Old Firm in Scotland, Rangers and Celtic have also been keeping a close eye on developments and should he be tempted to go north of the border in the summer, Tranmere would be entitled to nothing when his contract expires. Ironically Power could be seen as a replacement for Lewis MacLeod at Rangers a player already thought to be on Burnley`s radar. Power has spent his whole career at Prenton Park having joined them at the age of eight in 2002 and progressing through their youth system into the first team.
