Sky Sports are stating that they understand Burnley are considering a loan move for Sheffield United 29 year old midfielder Lee Williamson.
The Derby-born player started his professional career with Mansfield Town in 1999 before joining Northampton Town early into the 2004-05 season. A move to Rotherham United followed in the summer of 2005.
He made his name though at Watford who he joined along with team mate Will Hoskins for a combined fee of £1.2 million in January 2007. During his time on the Hornets books he also had a loan spell at Preston playing a handful of games for the Lilywhites towards the end of the 2008-09 season.
Williamson arrived at Bramall Lane from Watford in the summer of 2009 for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £500,000,.
He has notched up 35 appearances in all competitions for the League One promotion hopefuls this season and has bagged eight goals
