Clarets media manager, Daz Bentley has just tweeted some breaking news that Burnley have signed Kieran Trippier on a permanent deal. Trips has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The rumours broke over the weekend that such a deal could be on the cards with reports suggesting the Clarets could be prepared to offer in the region of £1.3-£1.8 million to secure the deal.

Trippier joined the Clarets on a season-long loan in the summer from Manchester City and has since made the right back spot his own with some impressive performances. This is all excellent news and makes up for the disappointment yesterday, losing to Leeds in the last few seconds of the game at Elland Road. It was also a match in which Trippier was sent off under controversial circumstances after picking up two yellow cards within a five minute spell. He will now suffer a one-match ban and will miss the FA Cup game against Norwich City at Carrow Road this Saturday but this latest news will hopefully lighten the load.
