Vital Burnley (in conjunction with When The Ball Moves) as you may be aware are raising funds to buy shares in Burnley FC via Clarets Trust thereby also financially helping the Club. The money comes simply from some of the profits based on the number of joint hits that the site gets.

We recently presented a cheque for our first £200 raised to Clive Holt, Burnley FC Director and Clarets Trust Life Member thus securing one more share for Clarets Trust.

In an article on the Official Site called Fans Join Forces to Raise Funds our efforts have been recognised by the club and our scheme promoted

Press Release- Vital Burnley & When the Ball Moves Raise Money for Trust to Purchase Shares in Burnley FC

Two Board Members of Clarets Trust, Martin Barnes and Phil Lea, have gone into partnership based on their Clarets website and fanzine interests to raise funds for the Trust to buy Burnley FC shares.

Phil is also editor of a Clarets website (Vital Burnley) and Martin runs the When the Ball Moves… fanzine. Martin for sometime has wanted an additional online fanzine for WTBM… and this has now been achieved by Vital Burnley hosting their forum & facilities.

Vital Burnley however also makes money depending on the total site hits they receive and both partners have now agreed to donate a minimum of 50% of all profits to Clarets Trust. The site hits currently guarantee that the Trust will receive a minimum of £200/year enough to buy one Burnley FC share but the more folk that use the site and the joint facilities the more that extra money will be raised for Clarets Trust and the more Burnley FC will benefit through the Trust purchasing shares.

Both partners are delighted to announce they have already raised £200 and as you can see from the photograph they have now donated the money to Clarets Trust to buy one further Burnley FC share adding to the 88 shares already purchased.

Clive Holt, Burnley FC Director and Clarets Trust Life Member received the cheque on behalf of the Club and said:

‘I must also thank the Trust for their continued purchase of club shares, which helps to strengthen the club and give the Trust both weight and a voice of authority.’

A joint statement by Martin & Phil is provided below:

“As far as we are aware this is the first time a Clarets website has gone into partnership with an established fanzine with a view to also raising funds for a Trust organisation to buy shares in the club we support. We are even more pleased to announce that £200 has already been donated to the Trust to buy one more share in Burnley FC. If any Clarets fan would like to simply help the club financially by surfing the net, then make Vital Burnley or When the Ball Moves…Online forum your homepage. Even if you don`t read the articles or join in the discussion and forum activity, we will get one hit each time you just simply turn on your browser. Of course we would be delighted if you also read our articles and joined in the forum activity, the more hits we get, the more money we can make for the club we all love”
