Yesterday evening Burnley officially unveiled former Stoke City striker Jonathan Walters.

The 33 year old comes in on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee which is said by Stoke as potentially being worth £3million to them, and the Republic of Ireland international joins as our second signing of the week following on from the capture of Charlie Taylor.

His arrival also sees us boast five Republic of Ireland internationals in our ranks with Stephen Ward, Kevin Long, Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady already plying their trade at Turf Moor.

Having spent seven years at Stoke, he played in a total of 269 games for them, scoring 62 times and the 49 capped international will meet up with his new colleagues on Monday as we head to Ireland for our pre season training camp.

We’ve handed him the No 19 shirt for the coming season and no doubt later today the press will be awash with interviews.
