West Ham In For Gray?

It was being reported over the weekend that having failed to tempt Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe or Brentford’s Scott Hogan, West Ham switched their attentions to Andre Gray.

I’m not sure of the substance here as to be fair it’s in the Mirror and it’s transfer window speculation – so usually invented and wildly wide of the mark – but in any event they suggest that West Ham have ‘launched’ a £15million bid for the striker.

Having come in from Brentford for a reported £7-9million back in August 2015, Gray more than played his part in helping us to promotion into the Premier League and with this season included he now boasts 28 goals in 56 starting appearances at Turf Moor with three further showings from the substitutes bench.

An uplift to £15million is certainly in the right ballpark price wise given his performances in the top flight so far this year, but as the Mirror point out themselves Burnley are unlikely to deal with manager Sean Dyche wanting him to remain at the club for the future, especially with how the 25 year old has adjusted.
