Burnley will not be back in action now for two weeks. Yes, it`s yet another international break but as usual some of our players could well be in action having been called up by their country. We provide a summary below:

Danny Ings

Striker Danny Ings has been called up once more by England Under 21 gaffer, Gareth Southgate for the European Championship qualifiers. Ings made his debut for the young Three Lions against San Marino last month and will now be looking to add to his cap. England play Finland at Stadium mk, home of MK Dons on Thursday, 14th November and then host San Marino at, Shrewsbury Town`s Greenhous Meadow on Tuesday 19th November. England are currently top of their Euro qualifying group and are hoping to reach the finals in the Czech Republic in 2015. Last month they had impressive wins against San Marino and Lithuania but Ings missed out against Lithuania due to injury.

Sam Vokes

Sam Vokes also has the chance to add to his caps after being called up by Wales for their Vauxhall Friendly International against Finland at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday 16th November 2013. (Kick-Off: 6pm). He will join up with the Welsh squad on Wednesday 13th November.

Daniel Lafferty

Danny Lafferty has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad to face Turkey in Gaziantep in a friendly on Friday, 15th November (Kick-Off: 9pm). The match will be played in the Ocak Stadium, the home of Turkish Super Lig side, Gaziantepspor.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche feels Jay Rodriguez`s first senior England call-up is a real feather in the cap for the club`s youth set-up.

Finally we can`t really let this article go without mentioning an ex-Claret! Yes,` one of our own` former striker, Jay Rodriguez now playing of course for Southampton following a club record £7m transfer from Turf Moor. He has now been honoured with a call-up to the senior England squad. England take on Chile at Wembley on Friday, November 15th before hosting Germany the following Tuesday. He has been impressive playing for the Saints this season helping them achieve a remarkable third-place spot at the time of writing this article. Clearly, he has caught the eye of Roy Hodgson and I am sure all Clarets fans will wish him well and hope he gets his first senior cap under his belt.

Sean Dyche also thinks his call-up could be a boost to our current youth team players:

“I managed a team against him and he was showing good signs a few years ago before he got a big move and was adding to his performance levels. It`s good signs of what we can do as a club. He`s one of the big markers. At Watford it was Ashley Young, here it`s Jay Rodriguez, a big marker of the academy and the pathway to the first team.

“Even though he`s not a Burnley player any more I`m sure he`s fondly thought of by all.

“I`m sure everyone`s pleased that he`s got he`s got himself in the England squad.”
